Protein Buns
Protein Buns
3 eggs, separated
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
3 ounces Sour Cream
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Separate the eggs and add sour cream to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Then add the Parmesan cheese. Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites. Spray a cookie sheet with Olive oil spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 minutes. Keep oven shut, and leave the buns in there for another 5 minutes or until cool. *Adapted from Oopsie Rolls on Lighter Side of Low Carb blog
We use these for our hamburger buns, but in this recipe we are going to make croutons out of them.
