I received good news yesterday. My lipid numbers are within normal range! I'm stoked to hear it. Maybe I can get off the meds soon. It's kind of funny that by using hCG for weight loss my lipid numbers have been reduced yet hCG is not approved for weight loss. Something that actually works for people and that could resolve a lot of health issues it not good enough for the government to approve. Makes me wonder... I have a ton of theories that I'll keep to myself for now.
Today I'm up 0.6... no big whoop. I had a lot of peppers yesterday and they are kind higher in sugars so that could've been the culprit. I am not worried with 0.6 over LDW though. Still doing well and feel great.

R2P3D6
It's been a few days since I posted anything. Hubby, boo boo girl, and I went to KC for the weekend with a group of people. I planned ahead by making a bunch of chicken nuggets, meatballs, cut-up veggies, and brought some chicken sausages I picked up at Costco with 0 sugar. I did not stray from eating only what I brought. I believe I had two negatives against me. 1. TOM was about ready to visit 2. My love for beer and total distaste for light beer. I had a few beers all full flavored and full calories. I love Witte beers and my hubby's homebrew.
I did bring the scale to keep up with my weigh ins. (Hubby thought I was crazy...) Saturday morning I was fine weighing in at LDW. (I did have a few beers Friday night.) I was thrilled. So, I continued doing well with what I ate, but drank even more beer Saturday night. Then woke up in the middle of the night with a visit from TOM. When I weighed Sunday morning, I was exactly 2 pounds over. Ugh! Not quite over 2 pounds (I think I remember steak day is a must if it is over 2 not @ 2 pounds...) So, I tried eating high protein, which is difficult when traveling and thought I did pretty well considering. But low and behold, Monday morning's weigh-in was 2.2 pounds over. I'm certain TOM played a hand in it but I know I had beer and really shouldn't have. Yesterday was a steak day for me. It was my first real steak day. Last round I was able to avoid it with high protein days or doing a steak and cheese day. Steak days are not fun. I hate not eating anything all day. My stomach ached for most of the day because I still had my coffee and nothing to absorb it. However, I now know that it works! I am back to LDW on the nose! I am pleased about that and I got to have my eggs for breakfast and I get to have my buffalo chicken for lunch!! To top it off, it made for a happier Kym and my hubby is happier now too! (as he always says "A happy wife is a happy life!")

R2P3D1
Had to have some blood drawn for my lipid test. Had to skip the coffee and food while at home...Had to wait and that was painful since I cooked the omelet before I left...
Breakfast (349)
Breakfast (349)
- 1 egg + 3 egg whites omelet with chipotle jack cheese and onions
- Omelet cooked in coconut oil with a touch of butter
- Coffee
- Tuna salad with celery, onion, and relish. I used homemade mayonnaise. The relish was a mix of pickles, olives, and banana peppers. I usually add capers but forgot...
- Tomato
- Cucumber and Mayfair Dressing
I think I'm just going to go with the flow on this. I'm staying away from starches and sugars. In P&I, Dr. Simeons didn't specify how many calories should be eaten. I'm just going to keep an eye on the foods and the outcome. Counting calories is for the birds, especially when you're not losing. There'll be time for that during the next round. (My hCG is in customs! At least it made it to the USA :))

Kale Chips
Kale Chips

I love this for a crunchy snack
1 head kale, leaves separated, rinsed and dried well
Olive oil spray
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Using a knife, remove the thick inner stems from the leaves, leaving long strips; cut the strips in half. Arrange the leaves dark side up in a single layer on two baking sheets. Lightly mist each piece with olive oil spray. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake about 20 minutes, until kale is crisp and cheese is golden. (From danaslatkin.com)

3 ounces Sour Cream
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Separate the eggs and add sour cream to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Then add the Parmesan cheese. Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites. Spray a cookie sheet with Olive oil spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 minutes. We use these for our hamburger buns, but in this recipe we are going to make croutons out of them.

R2P2D29 - Day 29 VLCD, No Drops
So, this is day 2 no drops. I read somewhere that you wait 72 hours since the previous time of the last drops. That means I can eat a P3 dinner because 72 hours would be at 4:00 p.m. I certainly don't plan on going overboard or anything. I'm going shopping after work anyway, so it'll be later by the time I eat.
I was feeling pretty good this morning but then after lunch I was feeling fat and bloated. It got better and now after dinner I feel the same way. I think I'm either getting ready for a visit from TOM or I need to poo or it could be both! :)
We're going to KC this weekend and I'm a little nervous. Since we're driving, I'm going to make some protein snacks up ahead of time. I'll bag some of them to take with us in the ballpark so I'll stay away from the ballpark food. We'll see how that goes. I'm so ready for P3. I'm already searching for and coming up with food ideas in my head. I smelled someone had jalapeños and got to thinking Ooo, I could mix some jalapeños with some cream cheese and make it with some chicken. Similar to my buffalo chicken.
Until tomorrow...

"Think of this as chafing-dish pizza without the dough! Five minutes in the microwave and you've got an appetizer on the table."

R2P2D27 - Day 27 VLCD
Dad came home from the hospital today. Went to the house to see him for Father's Day.
I did my after round 2 pictures today and posted some on facebook. My official last dose weight will be tomorrow morning. I think this round was better all around than the first round. I released more this round and in less time. Now off to 3 days VLCD only and phase 3 begins. I'll start the next round July 30.

R2P2D26 - Day 26 VLCD
Exhausted today but satisfied with the release. Better than I thought with how yesterday went. Didn't do much. Spent a couple of hours at the hospital with my dad. He's there for another night and not too happy about it.
Got home did some catching up on fB and watched the rest of From Paris with Love and then watched Alice in Wonderland. Both were good movies. Then I took a detox bath. Feeling relaxed and ready for a good night sleep.

R2P2D25 - Day 25 VLCD
I can't believe it. I can usually tell when I'm going to have a decent release. Last night didn't think it would be that great, but this morning the scale said 214! That's 1.4 gone! I don't think I've been at 214 since like 1996. I'm excited. My original goal for this round was to be at 210 for LDW but I adjusted it because of a week and half long stall. My new goal is to be between 210 and 215. Now that I made it to 214, maybe I can be @ 212 for LDW! I absolutely love hCG and am so pleased with everything about it so far.
Well, I entered the above paragraph before my day went from easy-peasy to super stressed. Spent most of the afternoon and night at the hospital with my dad. I was smart enough to grab one of my baggies of portioned chicken and then got an apple from the vending machine. I did not go off protocol, but also did not get all the water I should've but the numbers were still good in the morning. See day 26 for the results. Here's 6/18's dailies:

Marinara Sauce
- Tomato
- Water
- Basil
- Parsley
- Onion powder
- Garlic (fresh minced)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Fill small saucepan with a few cups of water & bring to boil.
- Score skin of tomato in a few places with serrated knife.
- Blanch tomato in the boiling water for 1-2 mins.
- Immediately transfer tomato to ice water to cool and discard boiling water.
- Remove skin of tomato and discard skin.
- Preheat small non-stick saucepan over MED-HI heat.
- If want chunky sauce, crush tomato with your hands in saucepan (discard stem). If you prefer smoother sauce, puree tomato in blender or food processor then add to pan.
- Add garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper.
- Bring to low boil, then immediately reduce heat to low, cover & simmer for 15 mins, stirring often to keep tomato from sticking.
- Turn heat up to MED.
- Add parsley, more garlic, and basil.
- Cook 5-10 more minutes, stirring constantly. While cooking, start adding water 1T at a time until it reaches your desired consistency. I usually end up adding 3-4T of water.
NOTE: Add any spices that you prefer to this. I don't really measure them, I just toss in a bit of each.
R2P2D24 - Day 24 VLCD
I have to say I was pleased with the results this morning. I have released another 1.6. That's 2 pounds in 2 days plus the day before that I released 1.2.
I think I finally had a successful detox bath last night. The problem might have been that I was not able to get the water hot enough. My hubby finally flushed out the water heater because we were running out of hot water too quickly. Now it is working great! Everyone talks about how you sweat profusely and I never really have. Oh did I sweat it out last night! It was awesome!
Today was the last day of actual training. Tomorrow we'll review some outstanding questions, take a test, then I'm done! I plan on going shopping to get a new outfit for an anniversary party for my aunt and uncle. Looking forward to see some family I haven't seen in a while. I had a great release this morning but am already feeling like tomorrow is not going to bode as well.

R2P2D22 - Day 22 VLCD
Another day full of heat! Started off with a Cali Kicker then had a super spicy dinner and another Cali Kicker. I think I'm addicted! Other than that, today was uneventful. Online training was boring as all get out. It stormed today and I had a hard time keeping my eyes open. My day started out bright and exciting with a 1.2 release. Day 22 total release is 20.4. That's about 0.93 daily average. Not bad at all. Only 5 more days.
I ordered my 3rd round already. I ordered from PharmacyEscrow.com as suggested by Gutless in Seattle.I got my dosing kit from clockster on ebay.

R2P2D21 - Day 21 VLCD
Trying a California Kicker - juice of 1/2 a lemon, hot water, cayenne powder, and a squirt of stevia. It is spicy that is fo' sure! Before lunch, did an ACV cocktail. I'm trying all the tricks to see if they'll work to move the scale in the correct direction. Looking for some big releases this week since it is the last 7 days of hCG.
I'm working from home all week doing an online training for work. It's kind of nice not getting up as early and saving about $40 in gas for the week. The only bad thing is that I need to pay attention and it makes it difficult when I have to constantly go to the bathroom. I don't know if it is because I know it is closer or what but it seemed like I had to go twice as much today! Geez! If I haven't released some more after going so much, then I don't know what's up. I'm ready for this round to be over. I say that now but if I see a big release this week then I'll be sad when I'm done. LOL! Same thing happened to me last round. The good news is that hubby is totaling noticing that there is less of me now!

Well, I'm up a pound today. I know it isn't the toothpaste. The only other thing I've had that is different is the Capella drops. Maybe I over did them. I was so excited I tried them all. Well not all but most of what I ordered. I may have had too much cabbage too. Who knows? I went to the mall. Maybe shopping in the mall makes me gain. lol Today I am going to my brother's house to see my niece and nephew. My other brother who is doing hCG too is coming over early to try my orange roughy and tomato dish. He doesn't like fish much and just wants to see if this might be something he can handle just to have an option of something different. I like some fish but I'm not a big fish eater. I love my beef.
Anyway, I am having my coffee and water now and getting ready to watch Ninja Assassin. Until later...
Well, had a good time at my brother's. I swear my niece is a mini-me. She could so be my daughter. When we're together out in public, people think she is. I did good. I ate my orange roughy with tomatoes that I brought and drank lots of water. I sat outside for a little bit and felt really sick when I came back in. Had an awful headache. Later, it felt as if I could feel my stomach expanding. Not sure what's going on there. I know I drank more water than I usually do. I also ended up taking 1 Aleve. The head just wouldn't stop pounding. I then took a detox bath and had a vinegar cocktail. I feel overly relaxed and soooo ready for bed. So, here's the daily look and good night all!

R2P2D19 - Day 19 VLCD
Nothing too exciting for today. Took the hubby and his buddies to the Heritage Fest. Went shopping at the Mall, Trader Joes, and then Target. Had to get some non-oil toothpaste! :) Made enough chili for 5 days. 7 more days of drops then 72 hours no drops. I'm hoping for some bigger releases over the next week . I'd really like to get to 210 by the end of the round.
Oh and I also booked my birthday trip to Vegas with my BFF. Cannot wait! It's going to be so much fun!

R2P2D18 - Day 18 VLCD
Whew! I am down 1.4 today!! I'm certain it was the darned peppermint oil in the toothpaste. I could kick myself for not checking the ingredients. It was Tom's brand so I just figured if I bought it then it would be okay. Didn't think twice about it. I'm just happy I figured it out.

R2P2D17 - Day 17 VLCD Friggin' Frustrated...
I am up 0.4! WTH!! That's 1.2 pounds up since Sunday. I know, this is normal, blah, blah, blah, but it doesn't make me feel any better. Hmpf!
Another site: Stall Tricks
Alright, I'm over it. I have to stay positive. I am staying on protocol today. I was tempted to try some of the "tricks" I've heard others use like macadamia nuts and almost popped one in my mouth but thought better of it. I just couldn't bring myself to eat it. I have my chicken and asparagus for lunch and have had 60 oz of water, 24 oz of coffee and 16 oz of oolong tea. I will continue on and see what the scale brings tomorrow.
I just want to thank Walter for setting me straight. Just having someone provide some insight helps tremendously. It was like a switch turned on. My mood was lifted immediately. Who knew toothpaste could have such an effect on someone. Peppermint oil in my toothpaste was the culprit I'm sure. It is the only thing that changed after doing so well on releases for 13 days. Tomorrow is another day.

R2P2D16 - Day 16 VLCD
I don't think I'm officially in a stall since it hasn't been 4 days and I think I'm still losing inches (I haven't officially measured but I feel it.) Even so, I found this link and may try a couple of these tips to see if it helps for tomorrow's weigh in. hCG Diet Plateau Tips
Some things for reference when a stall happens or not feeling it:
Do not compare you loss to anyone else. I know this is difficult, but everyone, loses differently. Is is very evident on the TV show The Biggest Loser. Men tend to lose faster then women. Heavier people tend to lose faster then those with less to lose. BUT that is not always the case. So don’t stress about it.

The taking of your measurements and recording your body fat is important because if you are not losing pounds off the scale you could be losing inches and this is a good way to determine if you are really in a stall. If pounds or inches haven’t moved for 4 days, then you are in a hCG diet stall.
I cut out both bread servings and 1 fruit. I only got 340 calories today so I hope that's okay. We'll see if that'll bring a release for tomorrow. If not, I'll try the mini steak day everyone is talking about tomorrow.

R2P2D15 - Day 15 VLCD
I did not have a gain or release today and had really bad stomach cramps when I got up. I finally was able to poo (TMI I know but hey it's life) before I left for work and it made my day so much better. It's funny cuz I've been extreme one way or the other on this subject this round. At least I am having some kind of movement every day. Last round I would go 4 or more days without a BM.
I've been coaching my brother who started his first round Monday. He had a 2.5 release after his first VLCD. I think he was expecting more but he didn't gain much during load days. I kind of think he expected to wake up 30 pounds lighter. :) He'll do just fine though.
Hell's Kitchen and Glee finale tonight! Yippee!!

Effortless Cream of Chicken Soup
I tried this recipe tonight. It's fairly good. Definitely filling. A good way to utilize celery. Not a fan of just munchin' on celery, well unless it has peanut butter or cream cheese on it. :)
100g cooked chicken
celery (allowed amount)
1-2 c broth*
3 cloves garlic
1 T dehydrated minced onion
1/2 t parsley
1/2 t basil
ground white pepper (to taste)
salt (optional)
- Preheat saucepan over MED-HI heat.
- In food processor, combine all ingredients and pulse until reaches desired consistency.
- Pour into saucepan and bring to boil.
- Reduce heat to simmer, cover, and heat 20-30 mins.
- Serve.
TIP: For the cooked chicken in this dish, I use the chicken I boiled to make the broth.
Start out by adding 1 c broth to the food processor, and then gradually add more broth until it's the soup consistency preferred.
*The broth I used is the recipe from 101 hCG Recipes cookbook by Linda Prinster.

R2P2D14 - Day 14 VLCD
Scale was not kind this morning. Up 0.6... but that's OK. I know I did everything right yesterday. It could be leftover from eating so late on Saturday. I'm still in the 2-teens... I have a slight headache today and felt kind of weird most of the day. Kind of on edge, felt like my arms were heavy and I just wanted to lay down and go to sleep. I was going to try some kind of exercise today but I'm just not feeling up to it now. It just was not a good day. Going to take a detox bath tonight to rid myself of this funk.

R2P2D13 - Day 13 VLCD
Problems with blogger... This is from Sunday, 6/6/2010.
Well, I have to say I had a nice surprise this morning with a 1.8 release this morning! I'm officially in the 2-teens. I'm smiling big! :) 219 it is. I love it. Only 9 more until my round 2 goal. I'm so pleased with this round so far. I have had some kind of release every day, even though a couple were small they were still releases. I've thought "What is different this round other than the type of hCG?" The only thing I can come up with is that when I started this round, I decided I was going to eat all of the allowed foods. My first round I did not eat the fruit or the Melba/Grissini the first week. This time I decided I would eat all the allowed foods from day one, that way, when I came to a stall or gain I would have something to take away. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I didn't get enough calories on a daily basis and it hindered my releases because my body went into starvation mode.

Down. Set. Chili!
Phase 2 Recipe
I added chili powder and extra onion powder. It is really good and just the right spice for me. I love spicy. It is very filling.
100g ground steak (I use 96/4 ground beef from TJ's)
1 tomato
1/2 c water or broth
3-4 cloves minced garlic
Seasonings (to taste):
1/2 t onion powder
1/2 t oregano
1/4 t cumin
1/4 t black pepper
1/4 t cayenne
1/4 t basil
1/4 t thyme
Preheat pan over MED heat.
Add minced garlic and 1 T of the water/broth to pan.
Saute 2-3 mins. Be sure not to burn the garlic. Add more water/broth as necessary.
Increase heat to MED-HI.
Add ground steak and saute until brown - about 5 mins.
Add all seasonings and cook an additional 3 mins. Continue to add more water/broth as necessary.
While that is cooking dice 1/2 of tomato and place other 1/2 in food processor or blender to puree.
Mix in tomatoes, puree, and rest of broth.
Turn heat down to MED-LO and simmer until it reaches desired consistency.
TIP: I usually mix all my spices together in a small bowl so I can add them all at once.
This can be prepared in advance and frozen.

R2P2D12 - Day 12 VLCD
Today is Saturday. Weekends are great! I love sleeping in. I get up take hCG then go back to bed! More sleep for me! I have such a horrible time trying to sleep during the week. I'm not sure why. Today was not a usual Saturday for me. I usually become a hermit while on VLCD. It keeps me from temptation if I'm not around it. Well, I was invited to a graduation party and was not going to go. After thinking about it, I decided to go to get out for a little bit. I had not planned on staying long so I did not bring any food with me. As it turned out, I was having a good time with family and lost track of time. I brought 60 oz of water to drink and downed it. I sweat my butt off. I didn't have any food with me and ran out of water. I wasn't tempted by the food provided, not even one bit. To be honest, I wasn't even hungry. I also resisted alcohol. By the time I got home it was after 7 and I hadn't taken my second dose yet and no dinner. I had to wait another half hour after my dose to eat so that wasn't until 8:00 p.m. I'm afraid two nights of eating late is not going to bid well on the scale in the morning. Oh well I had a good time and it was good to get out.

R2P2D11 - Day 11 VLCD
All I can say is Wow! I have released a total of 16.2 pounds so far on round two of hCG. I’m already doing better this round than I did last round. I think the main reason is because I switched to real hCG. I did homeopathic my first round and I’ve learned so much since then.
As someone who has been overweight and even clinically obese for many, many years, I have to say hCG has changed my life. It is amazing what success can do to the psyche. Diet after diet has failed me. I could say that I failed the diet, but a lot of them I did not fail because I was able to free myself of extra poundage but it would come back. Not a single one of the diets shared how to maintain the new weight. It just feels so great to finally find a weight reduction program that has immediate results. I started my first VLCD on 3/1/2010 and have released a total of 32 pounds. That includes 7 weeks of “being on my own” to stabilize and maintain. I will admit that I went off the wagon while on vacation and gained back some of what I lost, but it all came off quickly and I got back on track. Why? In the past, I would’ve just given up.
